WORSHIP BONANZA | AUGUST 5 & 12

FREE WORSHIP CLINIC

This free clinic is open to anyone (Middle School and above) interested in being or becoming a member of the Trinity Worship Team.  Vocalists, Instrumentalists and Technicians.  All experience levels welcome!
AUGUST 5: VOCALISTS

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Vocalists
Vocalists will receive a free clinic on proper vocal warmup, technique, and care. In addition, those interested should expect to learn about stage presence, worship ministry expectations, and the purpose of a worship leader. I will ask you to prepare to sing a song of your choosing this weekend so I can hear and determine your vocal range, and then will ask you to prepare a song of my choosing for August 12th with the rest of the team. Please specify your skill level from beginner (new to singing and vocal training), intermediate (have some experience singing with previous training), or advanced (have plenty of experience with proper vocal training) when signing up.

Bring: Water, a worship song of your choosing prepared in advance to sing, and a teachable spirit.
AUGUST 12: INSTRUMENTALISTS, TECHNICIALS AND WORKING TOGETHER AS A BAND (everyone)

9:00 AM – Noon

Instrumentalists
Instrumentalists will receive a free clinic on your instrument of choice (Keyboard, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass, or Drums).  Expect to learn how to read music, play with proper technique, play with a click track, and more. In addition, those interested should expect to learn about stage presence, worship ministry expectations, and the purpose of a worship leader. I will ask you to prepare a song of your choosing for the morning session and a song of my choosing for the afternoon session to play with the rest of the instrumentalists and vocalists. Please specify your skill level from beginner (new to playing with very little or no lessons), intermediate (have some experience playing and have taken lessons), or advanced (have plenty of experience playing) when signing up.

Bring: Water, a worship song of your choosing prepared in advance to sing, your instrument (guitarists and bassists), any other equipment you may need for your instrument, earphones or in-ear monitors with an 1/8th inch OR 1/4th inch jack, and a teachable spirit.

Technicians
Technicians include sound engineers, computer technicians, and camera/livestream operators. Those interested in being on tech team should expect to learn how to operate each piece of equipment, expectations on being a part of the worship ministry, and the spiritual aspects of being a part of the technical side of worship ministry. With the current needs of our tech team, expect to be put into a rotation of volunteers very quickly!

Bring: Water and a teachable spirit.

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Vocalists, Instrumentalists, and Technicians

Vocalists, instrumentalists, and technicians will take what they’ve learned in their clinics and apply them in a typical rehearsal setting. Rehearsal will start at 1:30. Please be prepared to start at that time.

Vocalists and Instrumentalists will:
  • Prepare two songs: “Lion and the Lamb” in the key of A major by Leeland (Male vocalists will sing melody and female vocalists will harmonize) and “King of Kings” in key of D major by Hillsong Worship (Female vocalists will sing melody and male vocalists will harmonize). You will be provided with chord charts and sheet music once you sign up.
  • Arrive early enough to the church to tune your instruments, warm up vocally, and be set for rehearsal.
  • Expect to learn how to play or sing with a band, how to take direction, how to improvise, and more.
  • Bring water, their instruments (if needed), earphones or in-ear monitors with an 1/8th inch OR 1/4th inch jack, and a teachable spirit.

Technicians will:
  • Support rehearsal by arriving early enough to church to have rehearsal start on time. This includes turning on equipment and prepping everything at their respective stations.
    • Expect to learn how to adjust to changes made during rehearsal, how to take direction, and more.
